Diego Navarro joins the Oscar Academy
Great news for Diego Navarro as he is invited to join the Hollywood Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
After a 23-year career composing, conducting and promoting film music, he is now a new member of the Academy, where he joins a list with great industry professionals at an international level.
It is undoubtedly a dream come true for the Canarian composer, who fondly remembers when, as a child, he would get together with his family to watch the Oscars live until the early hours of the morning. And now, years later, he goes from being a spectator to an official member of the Hollywood Academy.
Navarro especially thanks Lolita Ritmanis and Charles Bernstein for their support, as well as the rest of the members of the Academy who also supported this appointment. Additionally, he would like to thank the governors of the musical branch of the Academy for valuing his name and recognising his work.
